The battle at Yorktown ended the American Revolution. It started in Yorktown, Virginia, where the "Red Coats" were camping out.
George Washington tricked the British so they thought they were in New York, but actually went south to Virginia. They surrounded them by land and so they couldn't escape through the York River.
Then Cornwallis was not able to get reinforcements. So in the end he surrendered his troops at Yorktown.
